Kelda Water Services (Defence) has a 25 year contract to operate and maintain the Ministry of Defence's water and wastewater assets at more than 1,000 MoD sites in England and Wales.

The contract, which commenced in December 2003, covers the Midlands, Wales and the South West of England (including Hampshire), known as package A.  This includes the provision of clean water, waste water treatment, fire systems and asset management including related maintenance and capital investment.

The business operates from its base near Sheffield, with satellite operations throughout the contract region.  A dedicated MOD customer helpline operates within the Yorkshire Water Regional Operational Control Centre in Bradford.

Originally the business was established as a joint venture company, BREY Services, between Kelda Water Services and Earth Tech (now AECOM).  In October 2009 the interests of Earth Tech in BREY Services were acquired by Kelda Water Services and the company is now a wholly owned subsidiary of KWS.

In conjunction with the change of ownership, the activities of Delta Water Services, previously a KWS subsidiary, which undertook services wholly on behalf of BREY Services was merged with BREY Services and the new entity renamed Kelda Water Services (Defence).
