Kelda Water Services Environmental Policy
Kelda Water Services recognises that through our business of providing technical and support services to commercial ventures within Kelda Group Plc, and through new and future business developments, we have a responsibility to consider and manage our environmental impact and to deliver clear guidelines to our subsidiary companies on the high environmental standards we expect. We therefore strive to lead by example and work towards being an environmentally sustainable company and commit to continual improvement in the future.
In order to achieve this, we have committed to:
-
Achieve and maintain compliance with all applicable legal and other requirements relating to our Environmental Management System and including work carried out on our behalf.
-
Where possible, seek to reduce our contribution to environmental pollution and work in an energy efficient manner.
-
Seek to use materials efficiently and promote the application of the waste hierarchy – Reduce, Re-use, Recycle, Recovery, and Dispose.
-
Seek to use environmentally responsible suppliers and work with them to encourage environmental improvements.
-
Encourage and facilitate the use of environmental technology throughout the business and promote best practice.
-
Ensure that all our employees and those who work on behalf of the organisation have received appropriate environmental training and have developed an awareness of environmental issues included in this policy.
In line with other company management system policies, we will incorporate the above commitments into our business practices and ensure we translate them into appropriate environmental objectives and targets. We will communicate this policy to all employees and those working on behalf of us, and we will encourage our subsidiary companies and all other companies in which we have an interest to implement this policy, or an equivalent.
This Policy will be made publicly available through our website and will be reviewed periodically in light of new knowledge and developing business practices, changing legislation and public concerns. Any such changes will be approved at a top management level.
